Inaugural Southern California League to Accelerate the Explosive Growth of Women's Flag Football
Creating a Path for High School and College Athletes to Take Their Skills to the Professional Level
Southern California Women's Pro Flag Football League Announces Eight County Summer All-Star Tour
To Kick Off League Action
Newport Beach, CA – Due to the overwhelming response from players and potential league investors, the SoCal Women's Pro Flag Football League, will create a SCWPFFL All-Star Tour in the summer of 2026 with the full regular season of eight county teams now scheduled for May of 2027.
These All-Star teams, from each of the eight Southern California counties, Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Imperial, Ventura, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Santa Barbara, will face a SCWPFFL All-Star Team with the eight games being played at a top high school or junior college stadium in each of the eight counties.
In May of 2027 the SCWPFFL will launch their full three month regular season with top female flag football athletes from all over Southern California playing and representing their respective counties in a 14 game regular season.
The eight county All-Star Teams, consisting of nine players, will be chosen after April 2026 tryouts, and the teams will be coached by a high school flag football coach from each of the eight counties. A successful high school flag football coach will also be chosen to coach the league All-Star team, with players practicing together for six to eight weeks.
These eight SCWPFFL All-Star games will showcase women's professional flag football and develop a relationship with each of the eight counties graduating high school seniors, flag football coaches and fan bases in each county.
This 2026 All-Star tour will also "test market" the sport for players, coaches, fans, sponsors, and media to refine the 2027 full league launch.
All players and coaches in the summer 2026 All-Star tour will be compensated for their participation.
Women's flag football is currently one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States, sanctioned by numerous state high school athletic associations and now supported by the NFL at the grassroots level. The launch of the SCWPFFL represents the next natural step – a professional pathway for women who wish to continue competing at the highest level.
